Preseli spotted dolerite is a tough volcanic rock, rich in Plagioclase Feldspar, with a distinctive texture from the Preseli Hills of Pembrokeshire, S. Wales. Early tools, such has hand axes, made from spotted dolerite stone have been found all over archeologist dig sites all over the UK.

The quarry where this mineral hails from in Preseli was recently opened up, the very same material that Stonehenge was made of, is the same material, thus the name.
